2006 Escape Leak

Looking to buy this ford escape from a private seller, while looking under the vehical It looks like a gasket that is seeping down by the oil pan. Is this a oil pan gasket or could it be something more serious. Thank You

Thank You

Oil under the car can get blown around a lot. Best bet is to wash it off then see where gets wet with oil first. Is it dripping a lot onto the floor?

It's tough to say, could be coming from up higher and seeping down. What does the valve cover gasket look like? Start there and work your way down.

honestly, if it's not bad enough to leave marks on the floor I wouldn't worry about it. My 2005 sort of looks like that but does not mark the floor. Remember, your looking at a 12+yr old vehicle. Any make/brand is going to have some small gasket leaks by this age. If it's otherwise solid I wouldn't be afraid of it. Good luck!
