Looking at these wheels- 1974 F250 -fitment ?

any input on these wheels. Looking at them for a 74 highboy.

was going to do the 17x9 , with probably 35" tires.- possibly 37" if they will fit.

will I be ok with rim width, backspacing and offset?

was originally looking at the MT wheels but came across these and they seem like a good look.

open to any suggestions or comments.

Getting on tirerack.com and looking up wheels for a '87 F250 (they don't do sizing on dentsides) the most common offset for a 17x9 aluminum wheel is -12mm. A few show 18mm offset as well. If you look at the ebay listing they have a compatibility feature. Entering the same vehicle says that those particular wheels will not work. That is not to say that if you can't find the same wheel line with the correct offset.

thanks for the response. I wasn't sure on fitment bc so many guides dont list 1973-79 trucks.

I was pretty much just going off the bolt pattern and rim size- This wheel did have a 5 backspace which I was unsure about- (it looked like 4.5 was more ideal)

so it soundS like i need to find 4.5 BACKSPACE WITH -12 OFFSET?

9" wheel with 5" BS is perfect on a 12.5 wide tire.

I have run that on my last two trucks.

That is a good looking wheel...i like it a little better than my Mickey T Classic 3's.

I am curious also as to what offset to run on what wheel sizes. Currently running 15 inch Pacer white spokes but would like to go to a bigger wheel since 15 inch tires are hard to come by. I do need to stay reasonable as I have no power steering or power brakes.

Those were on my Orange 76 before he offered me the Turbines. They are a great choice wheel for these trucks. Nice clean look.

I run 15" tires/ steel wheels on my F250 4x4 and they are great, not hard to find at all in my experience as they are used a lot on Jeeps. Usually they cost less that comparable 17" set ups.

15" STEEL wheels will work with the correct brake / offset combo
Here is my thread on the topic...https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...alipers-2.html
I just went through this last year.

15" Alloys are a different story, if you go alloy, you might want to go with 17s to avoid any potential issues.

I run these 15" steel wheels without any issues. Nice wheels, nice tires.

Yes, People like to See one of these dinosaurs. The sound gets some attention.
Only one sad thing, refueling is much more expensive in germany than in your country, more or less 6.13 Dollar per gallon.
But it is worth the fun, only several hundred miles per year.

been searching a bunch and still am not sure about fitment.

wheel manufacture wasnt sure so they referred me to a dealer and the dealer thought 5 backspacing would cause issues on my truck he said the rim would contact the leaf springs on full turn

This was for a 17x9 wheel with 5 backspacing a zero offset..

i also found a similar looking pacer wheel at 4.53 back space and -12 offset

Or

pro-comp 4.75 , -6 offset

I have a dana 60 if that matters? saw a couple post referencing slightly different backspacing on the dana 44 vs 60

The white supercab has a D60 front and the gray truck has a D44. Both leaf spring trucks.

Both 17x9 with 5" BS and no rub full lock.

The D60 seems about 1.5" wider WMS to WMS but I have not measured.

I am sure the info is available easily online.

Regardless, in the front, it puts the tires flush with the edge of the fender on a D44 truck, and about .75" out on a D60 truck.
