New seats?? will SD fit?

Hey folks,
Been a while since I dropped in here been a bit busy building a house so the truck is working hard but not getting much love, I did finely drop in some new inj,o-Rings and some glow plugs over the holidays.

Any how.. Our seats are getting beat beat and maybe Im just getting older but they are just not the comfortable any more.

Are there any good recommendations for new seat sets that dont cost a fortune?

Can I put in used SD seats with some mods? I have welder and such this week.

Thanks for the help!

J

I’m running 03 Sd seats in my 96 I simply removed my seat brackets and tracks from my original seats and drilled new holes and bolted them in my truck for center seat I welded up two brackets with some small angle worked out pretty good so far plus it’s reversible if I was decided to change them out in the future very easy project

These are the seats out of my truck. They are the stock XLT seats out of another truck since mine is an XL and I had to have the seats rebuilt, the foam replaced, and then I had it re wrapped in this dark grey vinyl. Only cost me $400. If my seat was in decent shape, new foam and vinyl would have been around 250 ish.

Thanks for the info! if I can look for SD seats that sure widens the options.
As far as getting them rebuilt, The seats that are in it are some sort of 3rd party seats that were in it when I got it. I have never really liked them so if I could switch back to the stock seats I would be happy or even better a good SD or other 3rd party seat.

B-rad i like the looks of the one in your photo, If I could get some thing like that I would be psyched.

Thanks for the help!

It's easy if you know how to weld. As stated I did 04 seats. If I had to do it again I would get seats from an excursion! I still may LOL

I am very happy with them. The middle seat is kind of messed up so I have to go back in to have it fixed but it looks great, the foul odor from the old crappy cloth is gone and they are some of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in in any vehicle.

If you have a good seat frame it is a lot cheaper to have them re wrapped.

the other problem with my seats that are in there is they dont slide so access to the back of the cab is a pain. If I could find a decent set of stock seats I would be thrilled to switch back. I think I will be making calls to wreckers tomorrow and see what I can russel up,

I've seen some folks work the King Ranch seats in, and they really do look nice.

I have a set with console from the rear of a 2004 Harley Davidson F series. They fit the floor fine and i just drilled 4 holes and bolted it with large thick washers. They've been in 10k or so.
