adding rear speakers - worth it for reg cab?

I actually think the stock radio / speakers sound pretty good but thinking about adding something like adding a android car radio so it can integrate with my phone and play music, etc.

When/if I do this (at tax time) , wondering if it is worth the effort to add 2 rear speakers in the rear with it being so small?

I am not an audiophile, but if it makes a huge difference I may add them in.

Thanks.

I have the four speaker setup in my reg cab with stock radio and it sounds pretty good. Think it would be worth the effort and cost to add them.

Honestly that is the whole reason I want to do this is to add connectivity as the stock radio has no aux or bluetooth. You can buy stock radios on ebay that have been hacked to enable bluetooth but I want to see if i can find something I like better before I got that route.

I would like something with Android auto, but so far they are all $$$.

Are there kits to do a 2 din radio?

It's totally worth it. I recommend you replace the stock speakers with the same type (brand/series) as the new rear speakers you're adding. I found the stock Ford speakers in my '96 F150 to be ok, but when I replaced them, I was SO much happier with the sound. I bought Polk Audio speakers and a Kenwood stereo. I would never put the OEM speakers back in!

It's not so much the wiring but I think you need a wider faceplate for a double din. I think that is what I will need for this to work...
