2008 escape

My 08 escape has an intermittent clicking sound coming from underneath the dash. It Happens just after startup and while driving.
After awhile it goes away. It's not mechanical(steering, brakes)anybody have any ideas ? Thanks

Try to pinpoint the specific area where the noise comes from. We can't hear it through the internet, you'll actually have to look for it yourself.

Yes, Time to bust out the stethoscope. I was hoping somebody else had this happen to them and would steer me in the right direction. Thanks

Try changing your heater settings and see if you can provoke it, the heater will have flaps it can move which may generate such a noise.

At least stick your head under there while parked and take a listen. "Under the dash" is a pretty large area.

Located the problem. It was the drivers side heater blend door actuator.

Probably a stripped gear in the actuator.
