Where to store Weighsafe in the truck?
Where do you guys store your Weighsafe when it's in the truck? Do you keep it in the box it came in, disassembled? Or do you store it somewhere assembled? Just thinking that if I get into an accident, don't want something that heavy flying around in the cabin. Thanks!

CCSB, right? Do you have space under the rear seat? I would tether it to the seat mounts under there if you can.
I have a SCab, and there is plenty of room under that stubby by comparison rear seat for an item like that. But I wouldn't trust the $29 plastic underseat cargo organizer alone for it.

Exactly what I do. Other cars don't get close to me in traffic when they see the hitch. Hoping if I ever am hit from behind that it helps prevent even more damage to anyone by keeping them from totally going underneath me.

Maybe only comes into play when someone DOES hit you???

I have to wonder if the whole "it's illegal to leave the hitch installed" issue is an (sub)urban myth. If the hitch blocks the license plate I could see that being a problem. But otherwise? I doubt it. I see a lot of noise on the Internet about this issue. Lots of third hand, anecdotal evidence, but not much in the way of actual laws being cited.
I keep my Weigh Safe ball mount in the garage. The 2 5/16" ball is currently installed. I keep the 2" ball under the back seat in a zip lock bag.

FWIW, I leave my hitch in the receiver so I can back up hard against the concrete walls in our parking garage at work. Yeah, I have backup sensors and a camera, and they tell me when to SLOWLY back into the wall.

IN Canada' it is technically illegal, you are subject to a fine. It's about a $150, and it can also require a fix it ticket to prove it removed. It's really an insurance thing because of the cost of bumping this with the soft body work bumpers of today's vehicles, the damage to these vehicles results in significant insurance cost issues. It does protect our trucks though from this minor damage.
Lots of folks leave theirs in to protect their vehicle, the dificult part is it's sticking out and not seen easily and when bumped does damage to the other vehicle. I don't because I hate walking around the back of my vehicle in the garage and smashing my shin or knee. Also where I park for work, with a long box, I barely fit as it is, this would reduce my maneuverability by another foot.
YMMV

I could not find a Wisconsin law requiring the hitch must be removed from the receiver when not towing. Shortcuts to WI law below:
