Install factory AC in non ac truck

My parts truck (1990 f150) is an ac truck im throwing around the idea of swapping it into my 89.(non ac custom trim)
I already have the under hood ac components removed as one piece (didn't open any lines) The motor is being swapped Into my truck so the harness has the clutch plug.
How much other then the under hood parts would I need to change? Just the HVAC switches?

Depends on how much trouble you want to go to. You will need the entire dash assembly as the vacuum hoses and wiring harness are going to be different, and those are all attached on the back of the dash. If the donor dash is the wrong color, you can swap everything over to your dash OR you could just add a switch to turn on the A/C compressor when you want A/C. Your existing dash registers will work to deliver the cold air, it just wont look "factory".

The wiring is already their and the vacuum lines don’t change, just need to swap heater control heads, the only time you need to do that ^ is if you have an 87 truck that uses cables instead of vacuum lines.

I thought the non-ac trucks were all cable operated? Perhaps I am mistaken.

So long story short swap controls in the cab and install the under hood components? Seems simple enough

yes it worked good, just had to swap the box and ac components over and the controls on the dash. Wiring was already there

Maybe a previous owner of your truck butchered it up.
You should have done more homework before buying and installing so many mismatched parts.

everything plugged right up. Just took it to the shop to do the Freon and they kept it for over a week saying that my ac still isn’t working but everything’s already plugged up. So who knows. Literally all connectors plugged up. They don’t really update me but say they’re working on it, bout to go show up and catch them with their pants down.

same here. Everything is converted to r-134 and all parts are new. That’s why I’m calling bull crap on these rewiring a reprogramming for the compressor to work.

mine is a 1994. So all wires are there. And I know there’s a connection to the compressor cause I could jump it, so doubt there’s a bad connection. My trucks also in good condition so highly doubt there’s a torn wire from pcm to relay, but who knows. I can try using a test light but they’ve been holding it.
