Has anyone herd anything on the Recall 17S33 Door latch as far as when parts were going to be at dealers for this fix?

 

Some people such as myself have also received a recall notice by mail explaining everything but within the letter, it states that we`ll be notified when parts are available so let the waiting game begin.

 

My problem is this F150 is one I am trying to purchase new from the dealer and they put my sale on hold due to the recall 1 day before I was to take delivery. And the curent rebates expire on Jan 2 so I do not know if they will extend the rebates after Jan 2nd if the recall takes that long. They are not alowed to sell the truck till the recall is fixed.

 

Just ask your salesperson if you can lock it in.

Also, if it`s not released for sale until 2018, it might even be cheaper.

Just something to think about.

 

Parts are becoming available this week, 12/11. Ford line technician here and just did the 1st F150 latches today at my dealer.

 

Be patient. Ford dealers are receiving latches for this recall this week and will continue to do so. Only so many of us techs and millions of trucks. Not just the trucks affected by this issue. Escapes, fusions, focuses, explorers, and so on. Ongoing issues that we are aware of. Expect at least an hour and a half for repairs.

 

 

depends on vin and build date of vehicle. Some are door latches, some are door latch weather seals and others are also lock rods included. Some of the trucks are all of these.

 

Has anyone had this fixed by their dealer yet? Going on a few months now since contacting dealer and them saying, we'll call you once parts are in, haven't heard back yet. Parts surely should be in by now.
