If I'm looking at the same thing you are then it is the collision avoidance light. It shines up on the windshield to let you know that the truck thinks you about to wreck.

It's not real evident what you're referring to in the pics. I have a King Ranch as well, but have no clue what you're trying to point out to us.

I know what piece you're referring to. The soft foam piece in between the windshield and dash board. Mine seems to be cut too short and fitted poorly. I want to rip it right off, but I think I'm going to have the dealer make it right. I assume its a sound insulation piece.

Mine was poorly installed as well but I had to have the windshield replaced and they took care of it for me then.

It isn't super important. When I had my front windshield tinted, they had to cut it out anyway.

Mine was the same way, slightly protruding on the driver’s side. Had it realigned when I got my new windshield.

Bringing up an old topic. Anyone have success keeping this foam trim from moving around. My dealership refuses to fix it. I had to call Ford and open up a case.

I keep monkeying around with mine also. I have no idea what it really does but I don't want to just rip it out either.

Mine is also crooked as Dick’s hatband but, like others, I’m afraid to rip it out...

Its purpose is to prevent small items, coins, pencils, pens, etc. from rolling into or sliding into the gap and creating an annoying rattle sound as you drive.
