Is this a good deal on a Platinum?

I went truck shopping the other day. I’m currently looking for a 6.7 Platinum with the ultimate package. After talking with the sales guy he gives me a price of 67k with 74k being the walk out price after tax, title etc. I told him I wanted a better price. He said he’ll go talk to the sales manager to see what he could do. The sales guy the brings back a piece of paper with a price of 71k on it but the truck was still listed at 67k. I’m still trying to figure out where that 3k went to if it wasn’t taken off the truck price.

Is this a good deal on a fully loaded SRW Platinum or should I keep shopping around? I’m in the Houston area for reference.

67,000 would be a fair price. I paid 66K for mine.

It doesn’t matter how much you paid for what truck. How much off the msrp you paid is what matters.

@ 76,600 msrp it's not fully loaded. It may be all the options you want but a FULLY LOADED platinum is just over 80k msrp.

Thanks! I’ve been trying to get at least 10k off. 12k was my dream but i guess I’ll take the 9k off

Excuse me. MSRP was 76K. Had no idea there was that much variance from one platinum to the next. I can't imagine mine having anything else.

Well, I’m single, my cost of living is cheap and I don’t spend money on useless junk.

You are correct. It has everything I want and nothing more.

If he kept the pricing at 67k and your sales tax was 7 pct (that’s the pct where I live) that would make the truck 71.7. So he probably took out all the Doc fees and up charge from the dealer. I would say it’s a decent deal. If you shop around a bit you can probably get another 2k off, but will it be the truck you want is the question?

If its the exact truck you want i would buy it.

That’s probably what they did. The paperwork had all the charges including tax (6.25 in TX) doc fees etc. I didn’t get a chance to see the original paper and compare it two. It may be the best deal I can get for now.

Simply ask them to see the invoice. If it’s a 17’ offer them 1000 under.

Then I think you are looking at a fair deal. Sure some did better and some worse but if it's what you want and on the lot then that's a plus. I'm still waiting on mine, hopefully next week, because I couldn't find exactly what I wanted anywhere so I had to order.
