Hey guys new to forum. Lots of good people and info on here. Thought I would try to start a thread for just COE trucks. Love all old vehicles but, just thought it would be cool to see how many of us have the cabovers. Love talking about them and looking at them. So, any pictures or talk?
Here is a picture of my project. Up for the winter and waiting for new 22.5 tubless wheels, thanks to the help from truckdog who knew where i could get original 22.5s. And thanks to josh who had them and sold them to me. This winter i am finishing the build and, next winter i will be tearing it all apart for total rebuild!
I am building a 51 now and driving a 54. Later after i get caught up on some of these builds i will make my 48 a crew cab. Thats some high hopes for someone that can't even get them inside his garage.
Haha I hear you! I have 3 inchs of clearance now!! And when new 9r22.5 tires are on I will (or should) have 1.5 inch of clearance to garage door header.
Speaking of which. Years ago I bought a pair of nice rear panel truck doors from our friend Bob Jones. He had parted out a truck he hadn't had been able to sell. Along with the rear doors he GAVE me the whole/complete/straight-as-a-string roof. I need the cross brace from it to replace the crinkled one in my Ranger, but don't need the roof. Would that be helpful to you, or anybody else who's listening, to yield a contoured crew cab roof? If so, come get it. Stu
Pweng1 I like the cart idea you are using to move it around. I think I will use that idea when I pull my cab. Truckdog, I would love to see your collection of stuff.

Stu i really appreciate the offer. Im thinking it may of had to be made in pieces by me but im no where near ready yet and i just dont have much room to store it properly.

I used the cart with metal welded across it until i decided to build the wooden cart with air tires to push across the grass. Here is a pic of what i'm talking about and my 51.
Its bolted to it with 4 swivel wheels to spin if needed. Harbor freight 10 " wheels
This was how i found it less than 3 miles from me in a backyard.

I still sometimes wish I hadn't sold the 51 Cabover, but too many projects and priority.
here is my 53 cabover still driving it a little bit. Parade vehicle is about it though.
My 53 in the local st patricks day parade. With the irish dance group. I welded the frame back together on this one and sent it over seas to the UK The 51 on the left was sold /traded locall for the paint work on my 52 F6. The cabover is now running around town, he did a nice job on it. The 52 on the right was sold locally havent seen it since. Rescued this beauty locally and flipped it.

Ah, the vintage Ford COE. So ugly they are beautiful. The proportions are like no other vehicle, masculine and rugged appearing if they've not been chopped, channeled, slammed or otherwise neutered or feminized. I've always seen them as so interesting. For years I wanted one but the probability of that happening is slim. I've done my last major project.
So bring on the pictures and stories of the COE.
