62 Ford unibody frame

Does anyone know what need to be done to change a shortbed unibody frame to a regular short bed bed. Is it just the mounts that need to be moved?

Youll have to have rear cab mounts, rivet/bolt holes already there. As far as bed mounting don't know.

Same frame.

Add rear cab mounts

Bed depends on what you are using. Flair side will bolt on. 64 66 Style side will need some holes red-riled. Wrong bed 62 to 63 will bolt on.

Well I planned on using the 62 unibody frame and convert it for my wrecked 63 Ford stepside. Would it work? With little fabrication? I'm going to put a volare front end for disc brakes

No idea how a Chevy bed would mount.

Now a ford Flair Side will bolt right up.

You can add disc brakes to the stock spindles for 350 bucks with a speedway kit. Also drop the axle and reverse eye leafs. Much better than cutting in a Volare.

Make sure a frame swap is legal in your state as the frame is the ruling item for title and there is federal legalese involved regulation just who and under what circumstances can swap a frame be swapped.

Idk about a Chevy bed. I have my dad's 63 Ford stepside short bed. I already have the volare subframe ready to mount and weld. It was in another 50s Ford f100 before I bought it. Already has the disc brakes. I just need to redo the bushings

Garbz was subtly hinting that "Stepside" is a Chevy term. Ford called them "Flairside."

ahahaha I actually I never heard that. I always wondered what it meant, but unfortunately everybody I knew was a Chevy fan.
