Old vs '08 tow mirrors
I'm looking into upgrading the mirrors on my stock '00 excursion.
I'm leaning toward the "period correct" older tow mirrors just because I think the '08 mirrors could look out of place with everything else stock.
However, the main purpose of these is obviously visibility. Is there a significant visibility increase on the '08 tow mirrors or is it similar to the older tow mirrors? I'd like to eliminate blind spots. I drove a '15 f150 for a while with tow mirrors that basically eliminated blind spots.

Yes, the newer tow mirrors are that much better for visibility. If that is your goal, then there is not a better choice out there.
On the other hand, I completely agree those giant, square tow mirrors look out of place without a giant, square 08+ front end to go with them. Makes the truck look like a little elephant with big ears.

Yes, it's very significant in my opinion.
For the older style, I always had to purchase the C-Betr blind spot mirrors and add them to the tow mirrors so they would function properly, providing proper visibility.
The new '08 mirrors do this already.
If you're used to those 2015 F150 tow mirrors, then in my opinion you'll seriously appreciate the better view the '08 mirrors bring.
I've upgraded to the '08 mirrors on three of my trucks.

Thanks for the advice, guys. Sddesigns thanks for the pics, that helps a lot. Think the newer style might be better for me, there's a lot going on with all three mirrors!
So, where's the best place to order the 08 mirrors? Are these eBay mirrors a good option?

If you are going to do the upgrade, I recommend going with the A1 Auto mirrors - they are far better quality than the cheaper ones found on ebay. The cheaper ebay ones have distorted weird main glass. Also the A1 mirrors have auto folding function that you can easily wire up to a switch and makes it convenient to get that passenger side mirror in parking lots.
Here's a pic of mine on my 05 for how they look.
