P2 (my '49) is down.... But not out

Went to start the truck tonight, trying to figure out a electrical gremlin. A good bang... And I think either my flywheel broke apart or/and my starter is giving me a problem now. Tomorrow evening I will put it up on jack stands, slide under her and see what I messed up!

Ouch

Hopefully not too serious.

I cruised down to the last car show for the season.

On the way home, lost power so had it towed. I think alternator problem. Fairly easy fix.

Good luck with yours .

Sorry to hear you also had problems too. Hoping it's not the flywheel, but if it is oh well at least it's cooling down weather wise 85 deg high is much better then 110 deg in the shade!
Good Luck hope it's a quick fix for ya!

Man, I hate it when things unexpectedly go "BANG". Hope it was just a backfire.

I had a bang years ago, turned out it was the spring on the drive gear on the starter. A fairly easy fix.

So Moe, what do you know?

Did you find the source of the big "bang" theory yet ?

Mine was alternator related. I had been doing some additional wiring on my truck before, and neglected to reconnect the wire for excitation of the alternator.

I took the time yesterday to change out and rewire the fuse panel: I needed more circuits for radio, 12 VDC outlet etc.

Cleaned up some internal wiring and after battery charged, it ran well. Hope this solves my probelm.

Now what about yours ? Hope it is minor issue and easily fixed.

My starter spring broke this past Sunday, no bang though. I'm currently waiting on the replacement to be delivered.

I haven't had time to climb under mine yet... Had to clean up for Laurie's Bunco Club party tonight and yesterday I took my Mom recliner shopping, which she bought, brought to her home, moved old one out, and set up new one... Every ones happy, now tomorrow evening I'm hope to look at Penny 2.

OK, you don't have a stock engine. I thought about that after I posted my response. On the flatties there's a spring on the drive.
