I purchased all new weatherstripping, channel felt, everything... I thought. I have the post that has the wing window, but is there replacement felt available for the back side of that post (the window guide channel) I don't see anything on LMC. Any suggestions?

 

I went to an auto glass shop and bought some. That is called the division bar and yes you can get the felt and the seal for the wing vent.

 

I got mine from our friends ad Mid Fifty.

 

i got all the other felts, weatherstrips, and seals, i just can't find the division bar felt. Is it the same as the piece that goes around the inside window? I looked on mid fifty and didn't see it.

 

On my 54 it is the same. I had to drill rives out and re-rivet the seal and felt to the bar.... but if you buy the division bar the felt is attached along with the seal. I haven't look at the mid-fifty catalog for a while but last time I did it was there.

 

They have the division bars at mid fifty. I got creative and went to glass shop. Pull your bars and look at them you might be able to do the same thing.

Yes, Midfifty and others sell the division bars with the felt already installed. However, the division bars are bright stainless. Standard cabs came with painted division bars, Deluxe cabs or Custom Cabs had stainless division bars. If you are doing a correct restoration on a standard cab then you can't buy the Mid Fifty division bars.

Years ago when I painted my 54 I could buy just the division bar fuzzy insert but the reproduction places don't sell just that anymore. I have found a place that sells that. They are located in Windber, PA. Restoration Specialties & Supply, Inc.

 

These strips are for the vent window side. I have already purchased these. Thanks though.
