RV Newbie Needs help Understanding Axle Weights
Just purchased 25 Foot TT, dry weight 4,700 lbs., GVWR of 6,400. Tow vehicle is 2017 F-150 Lariat with max tow package. Had Equalizer WDH installed at dealer. Took it to scales before maiden voyage. Truck weight steer axle 3320 lb, drive axle 2280 lb. Weights with TT attached are worrisome. Steer axle down to 3200 lb., drive axle up significantly to 5,960 lbs., trailer axle 2260 lbs. Total cargo load in truck approximately 650 lbs. Cargo load in TT about 500 lbs.(no water, 2x30 propane, and about 300 lbs. of gear). My novice interpretation is that the WDH is not set properly to have that much weight on drive axle. Am I missing something? Thanks for your guidance.

Well, I don't know your payload rating or rear axle rating on that truck, but steer axle looks mostly decent.
With a wdh you are trying to transfer "some" weight back to the front axle but it's nearly impossible to get back to where you were before the trailer was attached.
If you had weighed this combination with the wd bars unattached your steer axle would be significantly lighter.
How's it tow?

You lost 120 pounds on the front axle when loaded. The goal is to get that closer to a zero loss, but that's not too far off.
