I'm thinking about getting the SCT X4 programmer for my pickup. She's getting pretty seasoned and I'd like to wake up the motor a bit and possibly add a couple mpg's. This is a farm pickup so I don't plan on turning it into a powerhouse dragster or anything just trying to upgrade performance. I've heard that if you have stock injectors that the SCT tunes, specifically the performance tune, can cause them to fail. I'm just curious how much my stock injectors can take and if they can handle the SCT canned tunes. My pickup also is nearing 187,000 miles and runs the same way it did when I bought it with 89,000 miles.
The injectors can absolutey handle the tunes, the item to worry about would be the tty head bolts. I also wouldn't plan on any increase in fuel mileage.
Better off just doing the Atlas 40 to your FICM if want to wake it up a bit, and possibly increase the mpg. Should help for cold starts as well.
Just my 2cents worth
