77 shlong bed build.

Hello, this is my first ford truck build. I have a lot of experience building Jeeps and other off road rigs. I thought I'd change it up a bit and try something new to me. I picked up this 77 f150 custom from a friend for free. No motor or trans. So far I've done a lot of cleaning and I've started working on bagging the rear suspension and shortening the long bed 16". So now its a short long bed.. or a long short bed... .. shlongbed.

Welcome to FTE! Only one way to beat that price, by getting paid to take it. Awesome job on shortening to bed. As you can expect, we love pics here so post up as many as you can. We would love to see and know more of what you have. Any questions you might have please ask. There are a lot of knowledgeable guys that can answer almost anything.

My girl & I watched a video last night and the male lead mentioned possibly shortening his shlong. His girl (and mine) said they would cut it/them off if it was shortened. Glad to see it's working out for you.

I realize I'm gonna catch some **** for shortening a long bed, but real men aren't afraid to cut a rig in half to make something different. Just sayin. Fact that it was free didn't hurt either. But its not the first time.

These body panel alignment clamps are a must. Eastwood or harbor freight sell them for pretty cheap.

So I am working on boxing the frame and building a cross member that will accommodate for the drive line when I'm" laying frame". Haha. Should have some progress on the step notch later this week.

I got my side plates for my step notch burned out and I just threw one up to get an idea what it's going to look like. Just gotta get it all fitted up and welded out.

That looks awesome. build it to your liking is what I say. As to chopping the LB. I am going to do it to the ones we have on hand now. I am going to try my hand at it anyways.

I see a front axle under there. Is this going to be a 4x4 low rider?
