I'm putting the restoration of my 71 Scout on hold in order to do this one. It's a 67 F-100 4x4 custom cab. Some rust in the floors but the cab mounts and rockers seem okay, for now. We'll see what they look like after sandblasting and I get the cab off the frame.

Wow the pressure is on now! Yeah I've already been beat up some about those hubcaps. I'm still debating. If I could find some originals I would definitely lean towards that. This will be pretty much stock, maybe some headers and a holley 500 cfm 2 barrel, and yes point type distributor just because I know it pisses people off! Possibly a 2.5 inch lift also. I've got lots of frame sandblasting and sheet metal work first of course.

 

I got that Holley super deuce. I'll contribute to the cause. I rebuilt it years ago. Let me know what jets you want in it and it's yours.

There's always some surprise waiting upon disassembly. They had a pto engagement cable mounted here. I guess if it gets loose you just start adding larger and large fender washers? This will be fun.<br/>





I figured it would need some floor repair/replacement. It will be a lot easier with the cab off and able to be stood upright.

 

There were no 4WD front hubcaps w/a hole in center for the front hub to poke thru until 1977.

The only thing available for 1967/76 F100 4WD (optional); 1967/77 Bronco (standard equipment); 1975/76 F150 4WD (optional) were 15" wheel covers.

Hub caps on your truck:

D7TZ-1130-A .. Hub Cap - 10 3/4" diameter, 5 openings w/black ring in center.

1977/91 F100/150 2WD & E100/150 front/rear; 1977/91 F150 4WD & 1978/91 Bronco rear.

I have one 1967 Ford F100 grille left. This is a show quality grille. It's all original and re-conditioned.

Took the cab off of the frame today. Took the cab down to get steam cleaned. Then came back and tow bared the frame and running gear down for the same treatment. Tomorrow I'll build some type of cart to roll the cab around on while I start the body and sheet metal work. I'm really impressed with the 2x6 adapters I used to lift the cab with. It really worked great.
In the last photo it looks as though the driveshaft carrier bearing housing got torqued off at some point in it's life.

 

Due to the color of the cab which I like very much, I 'll think I'll call this truck "Buttercup".

 

Wow this is going to be great! What kind of place did you have all that steam cleaning done? That's fantastic. I can't believe how clean you got the frame and engine before even starting on it!

I did it at work. Really makes disassembly much more pleasant without 50 years of grease on it.

 

I see that all the typical aftermarket suppliers offer radiator support and cab rubber mounts for 2 wheel driver trucks but I haven't seen any listed for 4 wheel drive trucks. I wonder what the difference is and are all of them different or just the front ones for the radiator support.
Has anyone found a source for them for the 4x4's?
