CB radio and antenna installation locations?

Has anybody installed a CB radio and antenna in their 2017 Super Duty? I'm looking for any good ideas on where to mount the radio, antenna, and how to feed the antenna wire & connector out of the truck cab.
Thank you for the ideas and any pictures !

I have been thinking about getting a Larson mount for the third brake light cover, the make them in steel to help with the ground plane issues.

Not sure what you meant by "steel to help with ground plane issues", as aluminum works just fine as a ground plane. I've used antenna for years with aluminum ground radials. The problem is using dissimilar metals on the aluminum body, and the potential for galvanic corrosion.

I'm still considering punching a hole in the roof, but clearance in the 8' garage door might be an issue...along with that galvanic corrosion where the mount meets the roof.

I've found nothing definitive on that antenna specific topic and I've been looking for a while. Plenty of info on using other fasteners though...

That looks like a quality product. I am just scratching my head on what antenna I could use that doesn't exacerbates clearance issues.

I installed a Stryker 94-HPC which is a 10 meter radio with 10 watt dead key and swings about 45. I bought if from BellsCB and Screwdriver has always done great work for tuning up radios for me in the past. The price was more than reasonable with the tuneup. Stryker SR-94 HPC This is a big radio in a small package. I installed the radio with dual Firesticks and get out 12 miles without a problem. I used my base station to help with getting the distance. I will take pictures of where I mounted the radio and also the antenna set up and how I ran the wires tomorrow in daylight for better pics. I have a Backrack installed which made the antenna install better.

Ooooh! I'm diggin' this! If it wasn't -10 degrees outside, I'd go out and look how to make this work. I have a Firestik with a quick disconnect that I had for my 2016 F150, but the billet bracket I was sold, was too flimsy.

I mounted my 2-way antenna on the left front fender using the bracket I picked up from the radio shop that they had for a new F150. For my cellular booster I siliconed a fender washer to th roof so the magnet would work. Then if I ever need to move it the silicone comes right off without wrecking the paint.

Warhound: I have the Larson bracket & a Wilson 5000 mag mount ant. & Stryker SR655HP~ a 10 meter radio with 10++ watt dead key and swings about 70+.

Regarding the bracket--> it is aluminum but they thru-bolt a steel plate on top for the mag bases to stick onto.
As noted in many other posts the aluminum body on these trucks provides a great "ground plane" for CB/10Meter radios.
