Crankshaft Repair Advice
Long story short-- 2005 F150 5.4 crankshaft never had the #5 rod journal oil passage drilled into the main oil gallery. Any machinists out there who can verify if the passage can be drilled and if it would be cheaper than a remanufactured crank? Thanks. BTW. Engine is still in truck, picture taken with camera sitting on front axle.

If you don't drill it, it has to come out.
If you drill it and miss the passage, it has to come out.
If you don't drill it and pull it for a shop to drill, it has to come out.
If you drill it and hit the passage, it stays.
I don't see any downside to drilling it insitu.

One of 2 things will happen.
Either drilling it works, or it doesn't work.
You got a 50-50 chance.
