Just saved another one from the crusher!

It pays to be friends with the owner of the scrap yard. Went this morning to pull a 300 inline six out of a truck for my dad's 65 f100 and the owner told me about another truck he had stashed in the back with an inline six my dad might want.. turned out to be a pretty solid 67. The inline was locked up but we pulled the trans for my dad's project. I made a quick deal on the truck.....now to come up with a game plan for the old girl.

4th digit of the VIN is the engine code:

J = 1965 240 I-6; A = 1966/74 240 I-6; B = 1965/79 300 I-6

Nice save, just a quick question. Since the doors have been replaced, are you sure the chassis is a 1967?

No matter, great start I am jealous.

Take it home, power wash the hell out of it, black primer, black wheels, black tires, black mirrors, tinted windows, tinted lights, black grille, And lower it.

351 4V engine, C4 tranny, disc brakes...

That's just what I would do... haha

Cab has been replaced...rest if the sheet metal appears to have come off a 67.

Brought the truck home today. Swung by the car wash and gave her a good hose down. Overall it's pretty solid. Tailgate us shot. And the floors need patched up. Front of of the hood and drivers side needs patched. Typical rust in the lower fenders and door. But over all not bad at all.

Not too bad. New hood and tailgate, the rest looks repairable.
