New 2016 vs new 2017 F-250

I'm a newb looking at a new 2016 F-250 bare bones XLT for around $47,500. It's been on the lot forever, MSRP around $55,400. IMO it's not discounted enough to go for the '16, but would like to hear other, more informed opinions. Biggest fear is Ford will run their summer sale like Ram and the '17s will be discounted at near the same price. First diesel purchase...have been back and forth on used vs. new, Ram vs Ford for months now. Thanks all.

I paid $52,500 back in Aug of last year for a new '16 F-250 4x4 Crewcab SWB Lariat 6.7ps. Sticker price was $66k. I would think they have a bit more room to discount the '16 you are looking at. You can always make them an offer.
I have owned seven F150s and only bought one locally because I was able to get much better deals out of town. And, I bought my first diesel last summer out of town because all of the local dealers are family-owned and they will not discount their prices enough.

I would think you could get a little more taken off that price. I bought my '16 XL last June (2016) and it was 8k off sticker. 42k msrp bought for 34k. If it's the truck you like, I'd offer 43 and be willing to deal at 45.

Good info, thanks! Right now it's between this one and a '17 Ram Tradesman that's 5W-ready and the same if not slightly better trim than the '16 XLT...and $3k+ cheaper. (and apologize for the probable blasphemy on this forum)

Yes... Yes it is blasphemy here... Now you go sit down mister and have a cold one and think about what you said here

Naw it's all good, you wont be the first or last to want to get advice on a truck that your thinking of, sometimes asking and getting opinions from people that own the trucks is a good thing, lord knows a salesman is always going to tell you it is the greatest thing since sliced bread
