Cheap-o Light Bar

So, I'll start by saying that in my opinion the led headlight/foglight combo provides MORE than enough light output. They turn the night-time Texas two lane blacktops into day light (and the ultimate bug magnet). I don't feel like these truck need anymore help in the front.

However, I don't (and never have) run a front license plate and got tired of looking at the void where the plate and housing should reside. Not enough for me to warrant the purchase of a $200, $300, $400 light bar but enough for me to try a $28 variant from Amazon.

I used the existing holes where the plate mount snapped on. Here is how it turned out....not sure if I'll keep it or not.

Thanks!!

Yeah the zroadz 12" bar is what got me looking into this in the first place, and it probably looks a little cleaner than this one, since it's 1/2" lower due to their custom fabricated mount. The mounts that come with this one only allow me about a 10 degree tilt up before it starts cutting off by the outer bumper. However, since it's a bottom mount instead of a side mount there is no fabrication required what so ever and the tilt is more than enough for me. Honestly it probably won't be used much anyhow...

If anyone is interested in this, it can be found here:

I'll have to get some from in the cab tonight. Here are a couple I just took though. The thing is much brighter than I thought I'd get for $28 bucks, haha.

Here are some night time pics...I can't believe how bright this damn thing is!?! Nice distance with the spot, and the flood really lights up everything else. Definitely Offroad only...

Also, I used a camera with a locked exposure so it wouldn't adjust to the brighter light. The pictures show what it really looks like.

Did you wire it to an Aux Switch?

Yep, wired it into #6 on the advise that it can handle a heavier electrical load (and you can tell as the wire is a thicker gauge). Took about 5 ft of 14ga bonded wire to connect the two and 10 minutes to wire it up. I love the ease of these upfitter switches.

I didn't think I was either, but figured for $28 bucks, what the hell...
