Disassemble Grille (Chrome Parts)

Disassemble Grille (Chrome Parts)
I know that there are tons of guys/gals on here with painted font grilles. I also know that a bunch of you did it after your purchased the truck. Looking over the truck and the grille, it makes sense that I can just take the clips off and remove the "chrome" parts and bring those in to be painted. Who has done this themselves? How hard is it to get the clips off? Any input would be great!

I've done the large chrome pieces. While the large pieces can be removed, it does take a little finesse to separate them from the grill. Once you remove the grill, it becomes obvious how the chrome pieces are snapped in place. I saw on a FB site for our trucks, a guy getting all of his chrome plastic painted professionally, that they sand blasted everything to get paint to stick. My grill clearly needed more sanding than I did, as there are several chips in it and chrome is showing showing through.

Sweet modification.

My intent was to have the clear bra applied after the paint had a chance to cure. I wanted to wet sand and polish it, but unfortunately, there were two small chips after the first road trip. Still contemplating my next move. Wish "Blue Jeans" wrap was available...
