Strange thing I found with my truck today (Issue resolved)
Interesting night tonight working on my old Ford. So it developed a serious miss literally overnight. Would barely idle, then smooth out a little, but pretty rough at higher RPM so I limped it home.
Put on a new cap, rotor, plugs, and wires. Fired it up, exactly the same. Started pulling wires, confirmed 3 and 6 are dead. Checked for spark, getting spark to them. Pulled the valve covers to see if I had a bent valve or pushrod, nope.
Swapped out the carb on it. Fired it up, and it's perfect. Pretty strange stuff.
It had an old Edelbrock that had some issues but I've been driving it for a month or so. Put on a Holley I just rebuilt (I've been wanting to put it on this just gave me a reason). I still believe Fords are meant to have Holleys on them anyway.
But I've never seen a carb problem that so precisely killed two cylinders like that. 3 and 6 were completely dead. Anyway, I thought I'd share tonight's weirdness with you guys.
