TAIL LIGHT GASKETS AND DRESS UP

TAIL LIGHT GASKETS AND DRESS UP
I needed to buy or make the gaskets for the tail lights on my Truck. I found some stuff and decided to give it a go. I also used aluminum " HVAC " tape in the light bucket. I may do the reverse light boxes too before I rivet it back in.
So this is the stuff I found in my garage. It's window caulk and seal. It's like clay except it has more elasticity. I suspected it may make a real good gasket so here's the steps I did to make them.
I nuked the stuff for .30- 1min.
Use wax or baking paper and roll it out like dough.
I used the extinguisher to lightly set the tail light into it. I then used an exacto knife to cut it out.
Finished product minus back up light bucket. Peel paper install lens.

Hmm hey good idea those gaskets our not cheap an don't stay in place very good while installing them.
I've used some Edelbrock gasket sealer to hold them in place while in stalling them.
It worked ok.
I see a lot of the stuff you used at the loco flea market for cheap that I'll get some the next time I spot some..
