2500 mile round trip next week
Guess I'll be busy getting all those little things done on the Excursion these next few (very few!) days
Green are completed
1. Fuel filter change
2. Change oil, replace drain plug gasket
3. Replace rear differential front pinion seal and bearing and top off fluid
4. Replace at least rear brake lines
5. Check and clear any codes, reprogram speedometer for these wheels/tires
6. Replace some rear speed sensor that has been acting up
7. Change transfer case fluid
8. Repair/replace rear A/C blower fan
9. A/C shim. Not needed.
10. Reprogram Key FOB (I let battery on key fob die and now it doesn't work)
11. Boost leak test
12. Find and fix fuel leak up top
13. Replace ESOF vacuum lines (if time)
14. RainX polish windshield, fill windshield fluid with RainX fluid
15. Clean out and vacuum/clean interior
16. Prepare toolkit and fluids
a. Socket set
b. Electrical kit, meter, etc
c. ICP, CPS, fuel filter, fuses
d. 2 gallons Rotella T6 5w-40w oil
e. 2 gallons distilled water (I have ELC coolant)
f. Rags
17. Check for any leaks anywhere and decide if they need fixed
This is about 3-4 weeks of driving for me, but concentrated into two 8hr+ drives and one monster 16hr+ drive. There *will* be stops and likely an overnight on the big drive home, LOL.
We are leaving Wed immediately after VA Drs appt for Cave City, KY for Mammoth Cave for 4 days, then onto Crater of Diamonds to dig for diamonds for 4 days, then 1200 miles + back home.
We will have 8 people with us in the camper the first leg and 6 after that.
Six people in the Excursion.
Any tips, toolkit suggestions, cautions, etc, please post them up!

Doing a 1k trip here Tuesday. Had diff rebuilt with 4.10s. Guys rack some miles up before towing. Did same as you but torqued injectors. Gotta clean the air filter and di boost leak(put all new spring clamps on). I dig the RAINX window idea... Have fun and how it goes smooth
When I get a little "nervous" about this long of a trip, I remind myself this is WHY we bought the Excursion and put the work into it. Hitch up and drive

Hows/howd the trip Ex?
. Tell you what, best money spent, having it geared to 4.10's..wow! Never, unless the hills called for it, got out of 6th. Whatta blast it was towing(8k-ish with new 245/75/16 also). Just rolled in at noon...truck was flawless, trailer wad perfect and mammoth fishing!, heading back in a few weeks....reminded me how much so cal sucks with traffic, once I hit the 395/15...anywho, preventative paid off BIGTIME!

Had some issues with the Excursion (see some of my recent threads about A/C, high EGTs, etc), but made it home okay.
