King Ranch Door Emblems

Not sure why Ford decided to drop the KR door emblems in lieu of the small font letters found above the vertical F250 badging. You have to get within a few feet of the truck to see which trim it is unless your a trained eye. They kept the KR badge on the tailgate though for some reason. I picked up two matte black/brown KR badges on FleaBay just because I think the doors looked plain without them.

Those look pretty sharp. Do they just have a 3M sticky tape on the back of them?

Very nice quality, 3m tape, peel and stick. Make sure you have them where you want them because these things are on there for the duration.

I hated how the previous gen King Ranch trucks replaced the nice round Powerstroke badge with these door badges. The diesel indicator became relegated to some cheesy script in the tape strip. The diesel option is worth more than the King Ranch option!

That said, these badges you added look just fine.

I mean what's the sense in owning a higher end option if you can't sport it? I don't recall anyone sterilizing "SS" "GT" "SVO" etc, badges for performance so why show your KR pride?

Just picked up 2x for $18 OEM new in box, I agree why spend $80k almost on the KR and you have to get within a foot to know it...

I think it's funny you want everyone to know how much you spent on a truck lol.

Not the point. First few folks outside of SuperDuty owners and even then not many know what they cost. I bought a King Ranch, not a stealth truck.

I have many people that walk over to the truck and comment on how good it looks, then ask what model is that?

Hey I'm not judging!

If I spent twice as much on something I'd probably want some sort of differentiation too.

I want to get some for my truck too. I want to put one on the tail gate also as mine doesn't have it.

17 OAKS, is the lettering Caribou? My whip is the black/caribou and the KR badge speaks to me, if Caribou.

Ram caught flack for their badging a couple years ago. The reason? Commercial owners said the placement reduced the available area for company lettering and certification numbers - some jurisdictions require full street address and phone number. If an owner used a magnetic or adhesive sign, that was really problematic. Ford has likely arranged the current badging for the same reason. While an upper trim level isn't common for a commercial-registration truck, the consistent location makes repair instructions easier.

Mine are brown/caribou lettering. They also sell chrome ones as well. Check on EBay for them.

Interesting. I traded a 2016 King Ranch diesel 4x4 with I think just about every option (heated rear seats, moonroof, etc). My 2017 is "only" a Lariat Ultimate and it cost more than the 2016 King Ranch. So don't be fooled thinking a KR is the money truck. The fact is, these are all expensive rigs and most people are floored at the cost of even a basic gas XLT crew cab pickup.
