2014 3.5 keeps going into limp mode
Hello everybody, my fathers F150 with a Eco boost has cut out then went into limp mode with the big wrench on the display twice now. The first time he was in his yard not going fast at all. The second time he was on cruise going down the highway. No codes were set either time and it runs fine after you re start it. We've decided to do plugs because it's prolly due anyways. Has around 75 000kms on it. So just with some googling it sounds like it could be the throttle body or condensation in the intercooler. Does this sound right? Are we on the right track? Where should we drill the 1/16 hole in the cac tube? Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Definitely do the spark plugs as they are only good for 30k miles. Use motorcraft sp534 gapped to .030. Next drill the 1/16" weep hole in the lower driver side of the intercooler.
This will protect the truck for future. Your issue right now does sound like it is electronic throttle body related though.

We drilled a hole but found no moisture in the intercooler and haven't changed the plugs yet. Replacing the throttlebody seems to have fixed it so far.
