Made a big boo boo
I was recently working on my 2005 f 350. I don't drive it much and it sits on the ranch for weeks at a time. Anyways I started it up after charging the batteries. fired right up. Checking the fluids and such when my wife comes out and tells me we have an emergency at home. So I shut it off closed the barn and we headed home.
A week later I come back and it won't start. Much to my dismay I realized I had left it on a slow charge for a week. Took the batteries to Oreilly's and they were both fried. I bought new batteries and it still doesn't Crank. I can get the starter to crank with a remote switch but the ignition terminal on the solenoid is dead even with the key in the crank position.
What do I need to look for that might be burned out or any other ideas you may have?

this is a very basic truck. Standard transmission, plain bench seats, am/fm radio.
A friend told me to disconnect the batteries for 20 minutes then turn the ignition on and off 3 times to reset the computer... that didn't help either. One thing I noticed is when I turn the key to the start position I hear a single click which sounds like it is coming from the fuse box

Basic troubleshooting 101. Good grounds and positives. Verify all battery wires are clean and tight on both ends, even the smaller 10 gauge wires that attach to the inner fenders under the hood. Check the cables for low resistance. A cable end can look good and be hiding corrosion under the terminal or insulation. Pull the starter and bench test it.
