1990 E350 w/460 oil pan removal.....

I need to remove and repair the oil pan on my 1990 E350 motorhome with 460 engine. Can I remove the pan without completely removing the engine from the chassis? Can I raise the engine enough in the frame to get the pan out? Anyone done this procedure? Any relevant advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks......

Looks like the pan has taken a hit from underneath...the sump is caved in/up about 3/4"....not really sure if I need to fix it, but if I can just lift the engine without removing it, I might try and fix the pan.

I've seen worse than that that ran for years with no issues
Having said that, the clearance should be 3/8ths to 1/2"
If you want to fix it right, pull it
if you want an easy fix you might be able to spot weld it and pull it down after you drain the oil, like they do in body shops
how is your oil pressure?

I was thinking about the "welding pins and slide hammer" method. I've seen that done on body panels, but didn't know if an oil pan is thicker metal than that. Never seen it done on an oil pan.

Oil pressure seems good. Motorhome only has 60k kms (40k miles) on it.

I've got two 1990 E vans, I would leave it alone since oil pres is good. I've seen worse.

I agree, if you've got good oil pressure, I would leave it.

OK, thanks all for your input. I'm going to monitor the oil pressure for a while and see what happens.
