oil dipstick needed

Thanks to all that helped me solve my last issue. I need a replacement oil dip stick for my 1990 e-150, 302. Approx 39" long. It got rusty at the top. and it snapped. Does anyone have a source, or a fix it idea?

FIRST! It is not a dip stick! I thought that all my life till I needed a the Engine Oil Level Indicator Tube bracket for my 88.

Can you post a pic of what both ends look like? Or a link to where you save a pic?
For a new one i would ask NumberDummy for the factory part number first.
Junk yard might be a good place. If you can't find yours but only a longer one, you can always cut it and re-mark it.

Note: The first time I changed the oil and filter on my 88 e150 with a 5.0 engine and put in 5 qts of oil, it still read low. I added a 6th qt and it still read almost a QT low. Then I came across a TSB that said the Engine Oil Level Indicator needed to be replaced. I just remarked mine..

OH just thought,, are you talking about the dip stick tube or the dip stick itself?

Yeah, it sounds like you need a tube. Sadly, I need one too for my 300, and so far none of the yards have been able to come through for me. Cotton

Thanks, your right, using the right terms can help. The engine is a 302, and it enters through the block, and is 39" long. I don't have a pic. I did find one on amazon that says it is 39", I ordered it, when it arrives I post about rather is right or not. The tube needs a good cleaning, and maybe replacement. I also checked junk yards to no avail.
What is frustrating is that almost every part store's computer says it takes a 20" oil level indicator .... ( I called about 12 stores) Is not correct info for a van, even though I enter the correct vehicle information. When I searched for 39" engine oil dipstick....the one at amazon came up.

here is some info that might help you out.

first (and here from Ford wehre call it a dipstick). Also the part number is different and the article from Ford is referring to a 5.0. IT says the correct part number is FOUZ-6750-D.
http://www.fiveohinfo.com/fox/tsb/90-1-9.pdf

And here is another post about the same problem.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...placement.html

According to this site the tube part is: Tube Oil Level Indicator E6UZ-6754-A . So maybe the actual dipstick is FOUZ-6750-D

Yes he is isn't he!
I am going to take extra special care of mine.
Nearly $80 on ebay!
NOS 1987 - 1991 FORD ECONOLINE / CLUB WAGON 302 ENGINE OIL DIPSTICK E7UZ-6750-D | eBay

for $5 I would be tempted to take my chances and buy this one and see if I could cut it off to the right length, if it fits in the tube. I dont know if that is the tube on the upper half or not.

The part number in this ad says 1987/91 Econoline 302, you listed a different part number (FOUZ-6750-D) for 1990/91 302, but the ID number didn't match the OP's.

My 1990/2001 light truck parts catalog is on microfiche, but I cannot access it at this time.

There's 10 of the E7UZ-6750-D dipsticks available NOS .. Last MSRP: $22.07 - Dealer net cost: $13.24. The ebay seller wants 70 bucks...

$22.07 is more like it! Of course I paid nearly that much for the bracket that mounts to the exhaust manifold and clips to the tube and was lucky to stumble across it.

Thanks for the great service you provide to all of us here!

F81Z-6750-DA is for a 1999 and later F250/350 Super Duty.
