Rut Roh! Rear brake time $$$$$

Figures, Spring time and I am covered like stink on......

Got the crunchy grindy snap from a stop light yesterday, I knew where to look as I had a guess the Ohio salt brine did me a favor. Rear parking brake is toast, so here we go.

2003 F350 single rear wheel, need everything from the backing plate out, so pony up the ideas on where to buy. I also need the socket since nothing in my box will work for the rear axle nut.

Dust plate
Parking shoes and hardware
Rotor, pads and caliper hardware.
Hub Seal
Axle socket
Beer
Patience......

Get both parking brake cables as well. They won't be far behind as far as rust goes

Get Dorman backing plates, parking shoes whatever retail store has them the cheapest. New hardware kit, for rotors I've been using AutoZone Golds

http://m.autozone.com/brakes-and-traction-control/brake-rotor/duralast-gold-brake-rotor//ford/f250-super-duty-p-u-4wd/2003/8-cylinders-l-5-4l-fi-sohc/300595_195255_2708?location=Rear

I've had ZERO problems with them and they still look brand new with zero rust

Good ideas especially the cables, I didn't know if the Dorman plates were any good. I can do the socket from the store and return it but I like to have my own around.

Done with other errands, going to slap it back together and will start compiling parts, just won't have a parking brake is all. I have had this brake situation on my mind since it has been awhile from first go around.

Probably get this wrapped up and final about July.....

My dormans are doing really good except the powder coat is peeling on the outside where you can see it looking under the truck. I have to sand it prime and paint so it stops the spread, I will say they are perfect where the two sheets of steel are stamped together, there's where my stock ones rust rusted away to nothing
