73-79 f100 front end swap...help!!

Just got a 74 f100 long bed. I would like to do a front end swap to get power disk brakes, a nicer ride, and also something that would lower me a few inches. What options are out there (please be specific)

If you are talking about lowering it, then we can assume 2WD? If so, take a more careful look- it should already have front disc brakes. Power brakes were an available option, so parts are available at the wrecking yard. You should be good if you grab the pedal assembly, push rod, booster, master cylinder, and vacuum line with all fittings and clamps. It may work with less than that, but there were a lot of pedal/ booster combinations and the parts should be cheap. Getting it all will prevent little issues.

As for lowering- I am no help. Mine's a 4x4 so I am going the other way.

Manual disc brakes were standard equipment on 1973/79 F100 2WD's, power disc brakes were optional.

If your F100 has 4WD, disc brakes were introduced in 1976.

The truck has manual disc brakes. I've heard of doing the 03-04 crown vic swap but I wanted to see if there were other options like that available

Power discs? Swap in a booster, booster bracket, and depending on the donor, a pedal assembly. Plumb or bend the brake lines to mate up with your master cylinder. No brake bias valve is necessary because your rig already has disc/drums, right?

The compatible Crown Vic donor years are 2003 to 2012 (or end of production).

Alternatively, there are IFS systems from Fatman Fab, No Limit Engineering, TCI, Paul Horton Welder Series, and many others.

Buy a 200v welder... a good one. Not some cheap azz POS from Horrid Fright.
