351c v2 open chamber heads on 400?

I have an opportunity to get some recently rebuilt Cleveland heads. They are V2 and open chamber. From what I understand they are very similar to the 351m/400 heads if not the same casting. The one thing I've read is they might not have the restrictive bumps that a 351m/400 head has.

A couple questions...

Are they a complete bolt on replacement?

Can I use my 351m/400 edelbrock intake manifold work with them when bolted to the 351m/400 block? I know a 351m/400 manifold won't fit on a 351c but is the difference in the block or in the head?

Do they use the same valve springs or are stock 351C springs capable of more lift?

The main reason I'm thinking this route vs using the heads I have is I can get them for the half the price that I can rebuild my existing set.

351c 2v heads will fit no problem 351c/m & 400 2v heads all interchange , 351c blocks and 351m/400 blocks are different ,one of them are wider than the other.

Okay, so it stands to reason that a 351m/400 regardless of head will use a 351m/400 manifold? Thanks!

yes, that is correct. And early 400 heads are exactly like 2V Cleveland heads.

I would still check push rod length & lifter preload. Intake retainer to top of valve guide, coil bind, etc.

That's a good idea Mark, you can never be to careful. Most the time stock stuff bolts on no problem, its the times it doesn't you have to look out for.
