Chasing a Ghost

Hey yall, looking for some help. I've got a 2007 6.0 that is blowing white smoke that smells like fuel and a bit of a rough idle. Tuner shows cylinder 8 contribution/balance code and ficm performance code. #8 injector replaced and ficm replaced with no change in problem. Still showing same codes as well. Truck has a banks intake, Bullet proof egr cooler, and Bully Dog Tuner on it. Any one else had this issue? And how did you fix it?

Try cranking it with the trigger wire located near the passenger firewall. It is a squeeze type bullet connector. Unplug it and touch it to the positive battery terminal with the key OFF. This will make the engine crank over without starting.
When doing this listen carefully. It should be a smooth fast crank. If you hear a skip or uneven crank then I'd check compression with a gauge. I'd also inspect valve train components for broken rocker or bent pushrod, starting with #8 (driver side rear cyl)

Starter crank wire connector

Thank you, that was another issue we found in replacing the injector. Broken rockers on#8 & #6. Both replaced. Also found the shipping cap off #8 injector inside the cylinder......must have been in there since 2011 when the dealership warrantied the injectors. Also found some tiny mystery bearing ***** under the valve cover that don't fit anything in there. Replaced the rockers and bridges, and standpipes while in there. Be checking passenger side next week.....and will do the compression test then.

I don't at the moment, at work. But there were 2 tiny steel *****, much smaller than the ones from a rocker, there's nothing on the valve train they could have come from. Last people too have the valve covets off was Rogers Ford, and the ***** along with the injector cap inside the cylinder makes me feel like they were teeing to get me to have to come back and spend more money, since I got a new turbo, Fuel pump, ipr and several injectors off of em all under warranty....Also called Ford and described the *****, they told me there was nothing in the valve train they could have come from

The shipping caps are generaly plastic it should have burned up

Surevit wasnt the injector tip or broken glowplug getting hammered

Really sounds like it needs an overhaul engine to go in
