change your u joints
I had developed a vibration years ago especially while towing in first through second gear. I went over my u joints a couple years ago when i had the driveshaft out and everything was tight. I should have replaced them at that point. Ever since then the vibration had gotten worse until the rear joint became very apparent it was bad. Now with all three replaced in the rear it rides like a new truck. Even with the trailer in place (although i still have some axle wrap) it rides like a new truck. lesson learned.

I actually did the carrier a couple years back when i developed a clunk. I debated on doing the joints then but they felt tight so i didnt do them when i should have. My rear one was shattered and the one middle one was so frozen you couldnt move it in the one direction. Honestly i cant believe the difference its made. Also it shifts like a new truck (its a 6 speed) very smooth while shifting and no clunking at all. Enough rambling, just get off your butt and do them lol

Anyone taking on the project. I had the local driveshaft shop replace U-Joints and Carrier at the same time. Should of had it balanced and painted but oh well. I didn't do because of vibration's, I had the first gear clunk and didn't want any more issues.

I just replaced mine and my rear didn't have bolts. Shaft and differential yoke were both pressed in. Pain in the *** that one was.
