Back again with another Bronco question. My daughters Bronco's drivers door will latch, but not securely. When closed, the door will move about 1/4 inch back and forth when the handle is pulled. The door striker was worn and we replaced it, but it still wiggles. The striker has been adjusted, but was no help.

So, I'm thinking it's the door latch itself. The latch is tight in the door, but maybe the internals are worn? Does anyone know of a source for these latches? Are door latches interchangeable between driver/ passenger sides or model years?

Just to be real clear... so the striker bolt that is in there now has a good plastic bushing on it? Am asking as a check, because a missing/broken plastic striker bushing will allow exactly the condition you describe.

 

Both door have brand new strikers and bushings.

 

Can your local stealer help you look that up and research it?

I'd bet anything that same latch is used on the F150.....they made 10X more of them

 

Cant you get those from LMC? Bronco catalog.

 

Please recheck those strikers, and verify that the diameter matches the original parts.
