Cab mount rubber bushings.

So I broke down and purchased the 1959 cab mount kit from Carpenter. Sure enough as advertised the mounts do not fit the 4 X 4. Every site I have tried does not have the rubber bushings.

What are you guys doing for rubber mounts on your 4 X 4? Is this a secret?

I need a lead. My cab is painted and on the way.

Awhile back I sent the original mount and had it made by a restoration company. They then kept the size so it could be made in the future for others. I will find the company name and let you know.

Restoration specialties and supply inc. I would tell them what you need (1959 ford 4x4 rear round body mount) they should have the size and density on file and will make it. If not you can send your old one in and they will make it. I had 6 made awhile back at a reasonable price. Good luck.

Do you have your old bushings?

Diameter 2.5 inches, height 1.25, hole .75 inch.

Hope this helps.

Mine is a little flattened out but 1.25 not counting the extension is what I guessed. The part that fits into the frame hole I would think about 1/8". I'm going to call the company tomorrow.

Yes lip is about 1/8 inch. Let me know. When I had mine made they said they would keep the specs on file so if someone asked they could pull them up and make some up.

Three phone calls and they were not interested. They indicated they had nothing on file for a 1959 Ford.
Anyway thanks for the tip. I've spent hours on line looking at bushings and think I have found a replacement. I'll spend another $25 to get a first hand look at them. The specs seem 98% the same.

Sorry to hear that. You would think they would want our business. Where did you find them?

Couldn't someone just turn down and drill a hockey puck? Seems to me I've heard of that being done many times.

Absolutely no company would provide any help on this one. With a diameter 2.5 inches, height 1.25, hole .75 inch, provided by member idaho211, I located bushings that I think may work. They were made by Energy Suspension but since they were of no help, I purchased them through Jeggs. Part #355-9-4102G. I have not received them yet. I should know later on this week. They are called universal mounts.

Those sure look like they ought to work.
