2016 center seat swap with pre 2011 console

Ive done some searching and I can't find any information about possibly swapping an older (pre 2011) console with a 2016 center fold down seat. The reason I am interested in doing this is because I can't justify spending over $1k on a used 11-16 center console.

this may be a dumb question... but is there any chance 11-16 f150 shares the same console as the super duty? they look very similar!

Thanks for any help! Just picked up my 16 f250 6.2 XLT crew cab short bed 4x4 this weekend and I have a few items I would like to upgrade.

The F150 stuff will not fit. I did a 2008 center console in a 2012. Not sure how much has changed from 2012-2016. I also swapped a seat for a flow through console on my 2011.

Not sure if this helps. The older consoles are getting harder to find. Yes the flow through's are pricey, but be vigilant and maybe you'll luck out.

Thank you very much! that helps a bunch... If you fit a 2008 console in a 2012 then i should be able to fit an 08-10 console in my 2016. Any chance you have any pictures?

I have sapped out consoles on 3 dutys now. I buy them at auto wreckers. 2008-10 consoles go for about $350-450 and the 2011-16 units go for $4-500.

SORRY for bringing this back from the dead, but what all is needed to put the 08-10 console in a 2012. I just picked one up on eBay, comes with the front and rear brackets, just curious what more I will need to make it work. My truck is a 2012 F250 XL with the 40,20,40 front combo. Any details would be awesome before I tackle this project.

Not knowing what you have, can't answer what you need. If it is your intention to hook up vents so that you will have air coming out the rear, then you need to read my article. There are several dealer parts required to make the connection work. Otherwise, there is a price that goes on the dash that replaces the cup holder. You will need that. Otherwise you should be good.

Thanks for the reply, I have a 2012 F250 XL, with a jump seat. The console I bought is a 2008-2010 w/out vents. I wasn't crazy about the flow through console, so I pick up one from an 2010 just like the black console picture a few post up. I was just curious if it's a direct swap with the jump seat or if I have to fab some stuff up to fit the older console in my 2012

I don't think you will need anything else. Go for it!

Okay so I went to tackle installing at 08-10' console in my 2012 F250 xl, the front bracket does not fit at all. When the console is sitting where it needs to be the back bracket is perfect but there is a minimum of 2 inches up and 1 inch back on the front bracket from where it needs to be. Do I trash can the front bracket and just run the rear one or is it because the XL is different then an XLT?
