First '17 in the shop
I work for a truck upfitter and we do a lot of work for the oilfields in the North Slope of Alaska. They have some pretty good specs they call for when getting a truck ready for -60F cold weather conditions, this was on the easier side of upfits but the 2017 presented a few challanges compared to the old Super Duty..
This unit was replacing a 2012 F-250 6.7 that served well for the company.
Stock truck was a 2017 XLT 6.7 4x4 long bed crew cab with the full camera package, more then the typical basic XL truck that we deal with.
We installed the following:
-Seat covers, saddle blanket front/rear
-Custom breaker box, 100w/150W pad heaters, (2) 60W battery heaters, 1.5A trickle charger with the block heater routed through it
-Husky Liner floor mats
-Custom door straps, these are to keep the doors from hyper extending if they are caught by high winds
-BackRack with (2) work lights and (1) light bar wired to dash switch
-Swapped the Transfer Tank fuel tank between the old truck and new
-Installed luverne grip strut running boards
-long fender mud flaps front/rear
-Custom winter front
-Light bar with the customer supplied lights, triggered by high beams
-Custom out of park alarm, so if the door is opened when the truck is not in park a backup alarm under the dash goes off at 97 DB
-Swapped the Goodyear Duratrac tires from there old 2012 to the 2017
I may be missing a few things, but here are the photos!

I'm well aware they're wired to relays. I'm wondering how the high beams trigger the light bar relays.

I can confirm it's not a Weatherford truck.
The front light bar - the bar itself is a randy ellis light bar, this WILL fit 1999-2017 and I don't think will interfere with the cruise control on high end trucks.
The rack is Back Rack brand, with (2) maxxima work lights and a customer supplied no-name LED light bar.
The running boards are fantastic and get amazing reviews from customers.

Thanks for the referral on the Ellis light bar mounts.
That's a new supplier to me, their products look very stout, some good installation videos on the website also.

Nice thread. I'm fascinated by Alaska and its extreme weather. I'd love to live there some day.
I see you swapped the entire old-style 18" rim from the old truck. I like that rim style much better than the standard or optional XLT rim you get on the '17 truck.
Appears to be not a badly equipped XLT - fog lights, ESOF, mirror spot lights, etc. Nice truck.
You appear to have done a lot to Alaska-proof the truck. Full grille cover, battery heaters, etc. Personally, I'd expect these trucks with no modifications to start right up after sitting overnight at -50F...so long as they were plugged in. Is that not the case?
