Hello all I just joined this forum but I had to do a lot of research on upgrading the headlights on my 2009 F350 from the sealed beams to the nice clear H13 headlights and I still didn't get all the information I needed so I felt compelled to make a YouTube video on it and wanted to share it with anyone looking to do it on a 2008-2010 Ford Super Duty XL. It's a little long winded and I was doing it at night so I apologize at my newbie video quality but I think it's informative none the less. Thanks!
sorry for the necropost, did you have a hard time finding headlights that fit the 08-10 sealed beam setup? my understanding is the factory fit composites dont replace the sealed beam unit without some modifications to the body/brackets. do you know what brand your headlights are? and how are the LEDs holding up?

At the time no I didn't have a problem finding lights. Use ebay and you'll find a lot of sets to choose from so brand isn't a consideration I used. Most are from China anyway. No modification was needed because the black bezel around the sealed beams connects to the same place the new light lenses connect at. The LEDs were too blue for my tastes so I only had them a month after the video. I used Sylvania silverstars afterwards and sold the truck a couple of years ago. Hope that helps.
Hmm, well I the ones I can find specifically say they won’t fit trucks originally equipped with sealed beam. I’ll keep looking. I use silver stars in the wife’s car, they are good lights albeit short lived. Thanks

Fair warning they're all going to say they don't fit sealed beam because it's not the factory headlights. You're doing a conversion which isn't a factory thing to do. If you put in the vehicle compatibility search a headlight lens that fits an XLT, Lariat, and etc then those lenses will fit the XL model, of the same year truck, once you remove the black bezel from around where the sealed beam went. Hope that clarified what I'm saying.
