This was my 1st gen Ignition module, but I made a different one with a different heat sink.

This would be something you could use to swap out the computer on a 1985-86 F150 with a 300 six. Really it will work on any DS 2 swap.

So what you are looking at is a GM 4 pin ignition module attached to a Ford remote style fender mounted heat sink used with an EEC IV Ignition module. The connector for the Distributor is about 20 inches long and connects to the Dist pig tail harness which is about 8 inches long.
The red and green wires are about 12 inches long.
The module is mounted with heat sink compound.

You can buy the GM IGN module from Autozone for $25-30 but the real value to this setup is the connectors and the simple installation due to the Distributor connector. You just cut the green from the coil and butt splice it. The red wire is connected to any 12 volt KEY ON source, I just use the Coil Positive.

The advantages of this ignition module setup are you don't need to try and find a stock DS2 harness. It will work with any coil including the stock square coil that is currently on your truck. It uses full voltage to the coil which is what you currently have on an EEC IV system.

You will need to find a place to mount the heat sink that has some air flow.

This is a very decent deal, folks. I have recently purchased the components to do this in case the MSD 6 AL box I am using fails. As stated, the 4 pin ignition module is $25-30 and the Duraspark connector runs about $20. Add that to the wire, connectors, tape and time [etc.].

Plus, with Jim's instructions, it is "plug and play".
