Lost brakes & TBC Fault

Morning,

A few minutes ago I was coming up to a stop sign & when I applied my brakes the pedal went to the floor. No brakes at all. Pedal had no pressure and went to the floor. Lucky for me I was coasting down & no one was around. My dash read TBC Fault. I put truck in neutral then back in drive and then everything was fine. When I got home I checked for codes and there were none. This was the first time it happened. Has this happened to anyone else?

Thx in advance.

Empty master cylinder? I'd say you have a leak. Fill it back up and see where the fluid is leaking.

If the plastic ( phenolic) pistons in the caliper crack it can leak fluid from there.

Tbc fault has zero to do with the pedal going dead. It only indicates a problem with trailer brake control unit itself or wiring.

If the brake! light on dash comes on it's usually low fluid in master reservoir.

Bad power brake booster & bad brake master cylinder. Both had to be replaced.
