How To Tighten Your Transmission Gear Shift Selector And Center The Needle

Information compiled from a few threads into one.

The first pic shows the torx screws that come loose, allowing the handle to get sloppy.

The second pic shows the black plastic adjuster wheel that centers the gear shift selector needle on the proper designated gear displayed in the indicator window.

Timely thread to come across. Mine started to develope an issue with not starting in Park, had to shift to N and then start. Problem solved, bottom bolt loose by half turn, top bolt was out 25%

My sincere thanks to you guys. Just finished fixing the dang shift lever into park issue (both t30 bolts were barely even holding themselves in) for the price of a new bit. Pretty satisfying Saturday afternoon. Now onto the rear hatch lock assembly.

in the top pic i borrowed to point out my problem. I bought this truck today and my friend that sold it to me threw in a t30 screw and some locktight. when i went to install it the bolt with the red arrow is missing the metal behind the screw it apparently broke off would anyone happen to have the part number to the aluminum piece that is behind it?

much thanks

J
