Maiden, the higher the Cetane the cleaner the burn. Good for the EGR and DPF systems, with easier starting to boot.

Tony, thanks. How often is it needed and would it be needed on a 19?

I add it with each fill up on my 2017 F450. I usually pump in 36 - 40 gallons, so I just add 6 -7 oz when I get home. (The stuff is too hazardous to keep in the cab, and I like my truck bed clear.)

+1 !! Very stinky stuff. You don't want that bottle leaking in the cab. New bottles are sealed. An opened bottle doesn't seal well at all. I don't carry additive with me unless I'm on the way to the fuel station or I'm going to be on a long trip.

If you think the smell is enough to keep out of the cab, download and read the MSDS for that bottle! I kept it in the cab until someone recommended reading the MSDS.

I use a fuel additive regularly. Been using a product from Stanadyne, seems to work well. There are different formulations, some for winter specifically which contain anti-gel additives. I believe that the Stanadyne product I'm using now is called performance formula.

The labels are also very different.

any input??

Motorcraft is changing the packaging on all of their parts and this started about a year ago.
A prime example is the new oil filter box. The new packaging looks cheaper and more basic than the previous.

And if you order the 1 Gallon Motorcraft Cetane Booster from Rock Auto, they will send you a rusted-out can of the stuff...smh. No seal on the loose cap either. Quickly returned and never again!
