Would not brake fluid contamination swell every rubber part in the braking system and require replacing everything that has a rubber part? Would it not also cause the front brakes to lock up when the caliper seals swell and the brakes are applied?
I never had a brake problem I am not the one that started this post. I still do not understand about the front flex line inner deterioration issue being known and common on Ford trucks. Is this bad info? If not, what causes it?
Its not just a ford problem. It happens to ALL rubber brake lines. Goodbye.
Why is the rear flex line with drum brakes not so known for having this problem? I have not heard one person tell this guy to replace his rear. I have ruled out heat and contamination as being the common problem, what is left?
Because 90% of your brakes when u stop come from the front and the rest the back. They dont get used as much. Even if they were completely clogged, you would barely feel it.

I thought the rear brakes where applied everytime you hit the brakes? Why would the front brakes be locking up or dragging and not the rear? Would you not feel the rear tires dragging down the road or see smoke pouring off the drums?

BECAUSE 90% OF THE BRAKING IS DONE BY THE FRONT!!!! learn to read! you've been told OVER AND OVER again what you want to know. ill say it again...
the FRONT RUBBER BRAKE LINES go out faster because THEY GET USED !!ALOT!! MORE THEN THE REAR. the reason its ONLY THE BRAKE LINES, AND NOT THE OTHER SEALS IN THE CALIPER, is because THE BRAKE LINES ARE NOT ONLY SUBJECTED TO HIGH PRESSURE AND CHEMICALS ON THE INSIDE, BUT ALSO WEATHER AND ROAD CONDITIONS ON THE OUTSIDE. do you get it yet? if you dont, read everything again. EVERYTHING you could possibly want to know about this problem is here.
I thought I understood brakes very well and could read, this is why I am questioning. What do you think would happen if you lightly applied the emergency brake and drove around the block a couple of times?
What do you think the odds of both front flex lines going bad at the exact same time are? Would you not feel a brake pull when one side went bad before the other?

in what vehicle? you never presented a problem. you just asked why brake lines go bad.

Do I need to have a problem? If I read something I don't understand am I not supposed to ask? Are we not here to help each other and learn? I have not learned anything so far, have you?
I've been driving a long time and been through a lot of different vehicles but have never had a problem with a front brake line causing a caliper to lock up. Only once did I ever have a front brake line fail (leak) and that was on a 1989 F150. This vehicle is now at 254,000 miles and the other front brake line is the original. The front calipers are original and have never caused a problem. The front brake line failures (collapsing and not releasing pressure off the caliper) is something I had never heard of until I started hearing about it on these forums. It must be a rare phenomenon.
i dont need to learn anything about brakes. i understand everything about them. i have plenty of experience with them.
but ill humor you. if you drive around with the E brake on, you will roast your rear shoes off. on a disk, you will roast off the E brake shoes.
Do you think it's possible a day may come where a guy may know a little more about something than you? Or do you keep denying all logic to protect your ego? Would this not make you narrow minded and unable to learn?
