Did you take this into account when you made your modification and the possible detremental effect on air flow going into the genedad modification?
As a general rule, anything you put in front of an opening will reduce the air flow through it. I intentionally said "general rule", to account for my experience with TAG's, but the opening going into the turbo is a special case that's quite unlike the one going into the radiator. The struts on our PSD grill are somewhat streamlined in front, but if you reach behind them they're hollow, and terminate with a sharp discontinuity on the upper and lower trailing edges. This creates a lot of turbulence, which can impede air flow, and also re-direct some of the flow up and over the hood.

I think grills are for styling, providing a place for the OEM logo for free advertising, catching large objects so they don't hit the radiator, and they divert some flow around (instead of through) the radiator at higher speed to reduce drag and increase MPG.

The cones you refer to are intended to divert incoming air from the hub of the fan where it does no good, off to the perimeter where the blades can grab it. The reason they're pointed on jets is to deal with the trans and super sonic air flow.

Maybe if you take the scoop from a snow blower and mount it up on the grill, of course attatch with duct tape, you could funnel more air in there. Just a thought.

Gene, I respect what you are trying to accomplish, but we must clean up the looks.

please refer to the picture below and order and Ambulance grill that already has the Ram Air funnel. Otherwise some slick lawyer is going to chase you down and say he can represent you for the accident.

On Friday mornings they have alot of stuff for sale at Wheeled Coach. If you want I can look for one of those grills for you, Gene. I might even find one with the lights so you could give the birds some light while they make a nest.

I really think he's playing a joke on us. Or perhaps, he was like the guy trying to trim his mustache in the mirror "just a little bit more.....OH NO!"

O.K. after looking real hard at Genes pics, I call August Fool on all of us. Notice how there is a big bent spot in the fins, and what looks to maybe be blood stains . notice also how the horizontal piece directly below the hole has what looks like chips and scars from maybe a large bird hitting the grill at speed. I think Gene alluded to this in his own words of ---Being able to reach up in the intake tube and remove birds and small animals---.

Come on Gene, come clean. Is this for real, or in that last trip did you have an Up-Close birdwatching experience.
