The E4OD has it's own MAP sensor on the IDI trucks? What other engine functions does the electronic tranny monitor?

Could you drill and tap the intake manifold for a hose fitting?

Map sensor is called a BARO sensor on our diesels, it should be located over the heater plenum and only have electrical connector attached. There are no lines attached to it as we do not monitor MAP. The Baro only senses altitude changes and adjusts the trans shift schedule so you do not burn up the trans due to lower engine power at higher altitudes.

I went and bought the sensor and it has a hose fitting on it? I think it is because the truck was a turbo in a previous life!

Note, I recently did several scans on my E40D on my 91 F350 with my new OBDI scan tool and noted that if you do a second scan after you have just done a scan the second scan will show a MAP (BARO) sensor error (Code "26" I believe, don't quote me on the exact number, could be a "19")

This is just a transient error that will clear itself after running the truck for a while.

There is something about doing two scans in a row that will bring in the MAP(Baro) sensor error unless you have run the truck between scans.

If your OD light is flashing what other "continues codes" are you getting?

There appears to be no #19 or #26 there is a 126 BARO Out of onboard diagnostic range after doing the goose test.

Just realized Meanblueovl got a 94', my FORD OBDI scanner covers all OBDI model years before Ford switched to OBDII; except the 94' Diesel for some reason.

I know my BARO sensor Code was not a 126 as the 91' was still on the two digit code system and my break codes are coming up as 11 and 10.

Given that the 94' Diesel was so different in so many ways probably more the reason for having it scanned by a tranny shop.

From the 94 CD........

On diesel engines, the barometric pressure sensor (BARO sensor) (12A644)operates similar to the manifold absolute pressure sensor. It measures barometric pressure instead of intake manifold pressure. The powertrain control moduleuses the signal from the barometric pressure sensor to determine the altitude at which the vehicle is operating. The powertrain control module then adjusts the E4OD shift schedule for the altitude.

Transmission Function: Used as an input to determine shift schedule and electronic pressure control for altitude operation.

Symptoms: Firm shift feel, late shifts at altitude.

Diagnostic Trouble Codes: 22, 72 (two digit), 126, 128, 129 (three digit).
